Kitchen cart- Redo with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

The "Before" shot... plain, blah, boring wooden cart, $20 at Goodwill. Then I painted it Gray, and decided it was still too blah and boring, and decided to remake it again.
I bought a cart from Goodwill a while back, it was just a blonde wood color, nothing exciting. Then I painted it using Annie Sloan Paris Grey, and it was very blah. I discovered her Aubusson paint color, which is a deep, rich, teal blue color. I LOVE IT! So I wiped down the cart and started painting! I used clear wax and distressed it with sandpaper. I love how it turned out. My kitchen has a lot of brown in it, and it needed some color. Very pleased with how quick and easy this paint goes on.

Main Bathroom Re-do

I LOVE Annie Sloan Chalk Paint! It has saved me so much work, and given me such joy in my completed projects. My latest project has been the main bath. This picture was my inspiration board. I found it on Pinterest. My goals for the bathroom were soft, romantic, bright and clean.

Here is what I started out with:

Where to begin. The NASTY smoke saturated wallpaper, that peeled off in tiny strips. The oak light fixture. The BLUE sink, tub and toilet, the oak towel racks. Such beauty and grace. I probably spent a good 5 hours total JUST on the wallpaper in this room. It did NOT want to come off.
In the middle of peeling wallpaper. The cabinets were so ugly that I had to paint those right away. I LOVE how they turned out, I used Annie Sloan chalk paint and distressed them and used dark wax to antique them. love, love. And love my drawer pulls that I got from a yard sale for $5!

Wallpaper gone!! With the help of a good friend!

Taping off so we can prime. The walls and ceiling had lots of nicotine streaks and so we had to use oil based Kilz primer to cover that up. It does not smell like smoke anymore!!! Yay!

primed!

I used a paint called Aqua Frost from Lowe's. Valspar brand. I have not been impressed with the quality of that brand of paint. This was the most expensive kind and I still had issues with it. Love the color though!

New light fixture and towel holder from Lowe's. LOVE!

My favorite part, the cabinets. :)

pretty and shabby chic! They make me happy :)

pretty new brushed nickel light with frosted glass globes.

We already bought a new faucet a while ago, so will be keeping that. Goodbye yucky counter that traps lots of dirt in the grooves!! And no more blue sink. I actually don't mind the blue, it was just time for an upgrade.

Such an improvement already!! I love my glass knob towel hooks.

While my hubby was ripping out the old counter and sink, I set to taping and painting the window trim. I have been using Annie Sloan Old White on most of my painting projects because I just love it.

closeup! All done! One coat of paint, clear wax, distressed with sand paper, and dark wax rubbed in.

Loving this transformation!! I just got this new shower curtain at Fred Meyer too.

Our new granite counter top!!

counter is now installed and we have a working sink! yay!!

Nice big sink with push button as a drain stopper.
New vent cover!

changing out ugly old cream colored, cigarette smoke stained switches!

Here is the backsplash we want... if we don't change our minds. :)

The mirror did NOT want to come off, and it broke in a million pieces. And lovely wallpaper behind it.

Kevin peeled most of it off before I could get a pic.

painting the trim Annie Sloan Old White!

done with trim, waxed and distressed

Painted with Annie Sloan Paris Grey, distressed, clear and dark wax. Hmmm. I don't really care for how it turned out, but it's a really boring, flat door after all. Let's see what we can do...

Annie Sloan Aubusson Chalk Paint. It just spoke to me. :)

Paint only, and it already looks so good!
And finished... I love how it turned out!

I decided to paint the mirror this color too, and I like it a lot. :)
